HURRICANE KATRINA, AUGUST 2005

Yesterday was a hard day for many, weather-wise. The affects of Hurricane Katrina could be felt over a LARGE area of the eastern United States. When the outer bands of Katrina started to come through my area, I went outside and took this picture to capture the enormity of this storm. The photo was taken at 4:40pm on Monday afternoon and just moments after I took the photo a friend from down the road called to tell me we were under a tornado warning. After the one warning ended, we had another immediately following. As far as I know.. there wasn't any damage in my area but I do know that other areas weren't so lucky. I want to send well wishes to everyone that is or has been in the path of this very powerful storm. If you have any photos to share, please email them to Lisa@planetbeans.com. Although they aren't "Beanie" related, I'm sure others are interested in seeing the photos as well.
