6/21/99  NEW BEANIES TO BE RELEASED THIS SUMMER!  This information comes from one of our subscribers and is about the new beanies and buddies that are supposed to be released at the annual trade show this summer. Looks like some really GREAT new additions to the line-up!

6/17/99  INFO ON SERIES 3 TRADING CARDS:
This comes from Beanietradingcards.com who apparently got this information directly from a Cyrk representative. (this is still "hearsay" at this point, so should still be considered a "rumor")
According to a Cyrk Representative, here are the details about the new series. The way the cards are packaged will be similar to the Series I and II cards with 24 packs to a box and 6 boxes to a case. However, the Series III cards will introduce 157 new cards and are designed with a whole new look and different card categories. Here is a preview of the categories and the odds of getting these new cards:

Classic Commons 1-24
Common Cards (1 new common card in each pack for the new beanies that were
not yet produced in previous Common cards)
Artist Proof - (foil cards) 1-1
Wild Cards 1 - 3
Beanies and Buddies 1-12
Retired 1 - 72
Birthday 1 - 5
Beanie Sticker cards (1 in each pack)

6/15/99  Planet Beans opens new yahoo club! We had our very first chat last night and ran into some problems with the chat server. Many people were having problems posting answers to the contest questions and have asked me to open a club over at Yahoo. We now have access to a better chat room for all future chats, plus there is a great place to post messages, and lots of other good stuff. This is going to be a great extension of the Planet Beans website! Check out the club

6/10/99  Ebay plays hardball with feedback ratings: In a business where reputation counts, eBay is quietly moving to limit its sellers' bragging rights when they move to rival auction sites. At issue is the right to use eBay's so-called "feedback ratings," which are logged in as buyers and sellers rate their experience when doing a transaction on eBay. Transactions are ranked as positive, negative, or neutral, and those votes are turned into numerical ratings, which eBay uses to measure user satisfaction.  eBay claims these ratings are proprietary and cannot be cited on other person-to-person auction sites, a stance that underscores larger, controversial issues of who owns data on a Web site. Indeed, tiny, Toronto-based auction site eDeal is rebelling against the rule and continues to let users cite their eBay ratings on its site. Beanie Baby Bandit Sought - (TULSA) -- Tulsa police are searching for a Beanie Baby bandit. Five-thousand dollars worth of Beanie Babies were stolen from a Tulsa McDonalds Tuesday.
