SERIES 2 TRADING CARDS ARE NOW SOLD OUT!
FUNNY STORY
3/26/99
I had to share with you this funny story that happened to me.
For the past month, I have had a terrible earache for which I couldn't seem to get any
relief. I called the doctor about 3 weeks ago and asked her to call me in a prescription
for antibiotics since I was sure I had an ear infection. After going through the entire 2
week regimen of the antibiotics, my ear was STILL killing me! So, yesterday I finally
broke down and decided to go in to the doctor's office to see if we could figure out what
the problem was. She looked in my ear and told me that I had some sort of "foreign
body" in there. I was shocked and asked, "Well what is it?" She said,
"I'm not sure....it's something shiny....maybe a piece of an earring or
glass." I could not imagine how something could have gotten into my ear!
Whatever it was had wedged itself between my eardrum and eustacian tube which blocked my
ear from draining properly. She tried to remove it, but it hurt me too bad, so she decided
to leave it alone and let it work its way on its own. Well, last night, I decided to take
it upon myself to get this "foreign body" out of my ear! I used a bulb syringe
(you know the kind we've all used on our kids) and I kept rinsing out my ear with warm
water until the elusive object finally came out. When I saw what it was, I laughed until
my side hurt! It was a very small piece, (about the size of a pencil eraser) of the shiny
wrapping that the Series 1 trading cards come in! Could I have sucked this paper in
when I got those two GOLD cards in a single pack last month and it somehow went up my
Eustachian
tube to wedge in my ear? I suppose I will never know how it happened.
